Mueller Outdoor Skills Day (May 20, 2017)

Posted by Michele White on April 21, 2017 in Uncategorized, Volunteer Opportunities

This might just be up your alley – an opportunity to finally go see Mueller State Park and to also finally volunteer some of your precious time for a good cause, right?

Mueller State Park is planning their 5th annual Outdoor Skills Day event. There will be about 30 different stations/activities of all sorts of outdoor recreation including target shooting, archery, fishing, etc. Local partner organizations, such as Divide Fire and the USFS will have booths and activities as well. There will be vans to shuttle people from place to place to avoid parking issues. This way, families can park in any picnic area and get around without the hassles of traffic.

We request members of TU to consider please helping to teach fly casting, or possibly fly tying. The South Platte Fly Shop has long been a partner in this event and will attend again. They need additional instructors as well.

Where: Mueller State Park at the Visitor Center

When: May 20, 2017, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost: Free, but a park’s pass is required per vehicle.

Who should attend: The general public for family-oriented fun.
