Volunteer Opportunity Trout Unlimited & CUSP

Gill Trail Maintenance on Saturday September 8

Project Description:

The Gill Trail which gives access to Cheesman Canyon has been damaged due to a recent localized rain event that washed out the trail and road leading to the upper trail head. This event caused the closing of both until the area can be restored. Volunteers and staff from the Coalition For the Upper South Platte (CUSP) have worked to reopen the road and trail but the hill slope needs additional stabilization to reduce sediment flows from future rain events.

Volunteer work includes: improving existing trails; hiking on moderate terrain, installing erosion control matting, carrying tools with a personal backpack.
