Volunteers please: Creek Week Clean up in Colorado Springs

September 26 @ 8:00 am - October 4 @ 5:00 pm

THIS IS FOR FOUNTAIN CREEK HABITAT WELFARE!

Creek Week is a 9-day, watershed-wide litter and debris collection event that takes place at the end of September and beginning of October. Service groups, neighborhood associations, scouts, schools, churches, and individuals all donate their time to help clean up the Fountain Creek Watershed. The event is also a chance to raise awareness about the watershed, our water supply, the district and the littering issue to make our communities cleaner, safer and more beautiful.

Every year, PPCTU fills up a chicken wire letter that Becky Leinweber from Angler’s Covey organizes into a clever environmentally conscientious or inspirational word like, um,well last year it was, “INSPIRE”. PPCTU filled up one of those letters. (Poor Dave Leinweber, I think he or his staff has to tote these bug things around and store them for the winter somewhere…)

Well, we are doing this again. Our Direcdtor at Large, Alan Peak, is out Point Man for organizing our PPCTU participation in this event because Alan is the man behind developing Fountain Creek as an urban fishery for Colorado Springs. THANK YOU ALAN!

Everyone will meet at Dorchester Park.

You can contact me, Michele White, and I will put you in touch with Alan Peak. Here is my email – Michele.white@ppctu.org.
