Guest Speaker: Boyd Wright, DNR Research Biologist
Boyd will be sharing his latest information on there recovery efforts for the Greenback Cutthroat Trout.
Boyd Wright is a Native Aquatic Species Biologist for Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), focusing on conservation of boreal toads, eastern plains native fishes, and greenback cutthroat trout. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fishery Biology at Colorado State University in 2004. Subsequently, he worked 2 field seasons as a Cutthroat Trout Research Technician for CPW (then called the Division of Wildlife), then worked for 2 years as a Research Associate at Colorado State University, assisting with whirling disease research. In 2007, Boyd officially began his career with CPW, based out of Meeker, CO, overseeing fisheries management of the White and lower Yampa basins. He transferred to his current position, based out of Fort Collins, in 2011. Boyd lives in Fort Collins with his wife and two kids. When not working, he enjoys spending time with family, fishing, backcountry skiing, biking, and relaxing.
