Call for volunteers PPCTU educational events Oct 8 (Fri)
October 8 @ 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
If you would like to assist in teaching fly fishing to high school students through Village School at the spillway of the Arkansas River in Pueblo, then then please contact Michele White (firstname.lastname@example.org)
PPCTU provides the rods, reels and flies. You will need a hemostat, nippers and a net. Volunteers help set up the rods and then break them down after.
There will be 14 students from the Village School.. This day will be their outdoor field day and one of the few that they interface with each other. We will meet at 8 a.m. at the
Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center – River Campus – which is down stream from the spillway at 5200 Nature Center Rd, Pueblo, CO 81003.
When we get there, we set up the PPCTU rods and wait for the students to arrive ( 9 am.) then, we take 2 students apiece and fish right there or a bit upstream or downstream until 12:45. They leave at 1 pm. Then, we break down the rods.
BE sure to bring your own refreshments and fishing vest with net and streamside gear.
